No Ice Protests: Last Saturday of the Month, Citizens Park, Idaho Springs

 

Gather with your neighbors to protest ICE's occupation of American Cities. Bring your signs and outrage to Citizens' Park, 1545 Miner St, Idaho Springs, CO 80452.  Sponsored by the Clear Creek Democratic Party.

Join us to hear from Voters of Tomorrow about the reality of youth voting today, what issues matter most, and who plays a role in engaging them. You’ll learn how to have real, meaningful conversations with the young voters in your life. You’ll also hear from the founder of Donuts + Democracy about creative, fun ways to spark engagement and bring fresh energy into civic participation.   • 5/13/2026 – Organizing to Protect Democracy: The Role of Activists – 6pm – Zoom - a training on how to re-energize during periods of exhaustion and how our individual roles have a large part to play in building our movement   

    • Recognize how Authoritarians use chaos to overwhelm us  

    • Understand how power operates in civil society and how movements can shift it 

    • Identify your role and learn how to sustain your impact over time

  • 5/13/2026 – Winning Congress in 2026: What Works – 2-3pm – Zoom - Hear how Swing Left's Ground Truth volunteers are using new ways to reach voters in swing districts. Yasmin Radjy will describe how meaningful conversations are helping Democrats win back power. Then, learn from Minnesota's January 23 "No Work, No School, No Shopping" protest — which drew tens of thousands and changed ICE policy. Greg Nammacher will show how volunteers everywhere can replicate that impact. Register here.

  • 5/20/2026 – When Trans Kids are Under Attack – 6-8pm – Belong Church, 3501 W. 1st Ave, Denver. Food and childcare provided. A community teach-in on ballot measures 109 (Ending Trans kids’ participation in sports) and 110 (Ending many forms of gender affirming care for kids.)

And Water Brings Tomorrow is a meditative journey through a world in transformation—where closed prisons become something new, extreme weather reshapes our landscapes, and political crisis forms the backdrop for profound change. This hybrid documentary follows formerly incarcerated organizers leading bold campaigns to close prisons and reimagine what safety means. Their stories span a movement: from California’s fight to shutter state prisons, to a pilgrimage across the Southwest demanding the closure of ICE detention centers, to an Appalachian community resisting the construction of a new prison on top of a former coal mine.
