Justice for Lorenzo, Johan, and all the others… ICE Out Vigil and March, Saturday, July 25

Seventeen people marched from the Old Carlson Elementary School to Idaho Springs City Hall in silent remembrance of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Johan Sebastian Guerrero, two innocent men killed by ICE in July.

On July 7, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was killed in Houston on his way to work.

On July 11, ICE agents killed a 26-year-old Johan Sebastian Guerrero

who was authorized to work in the United States. A witness watched his wife fall to her knees, looking at her husband's body on the ground. His three-year-old daughter was standing next to her, crying, still in her pajamas.

Comments from the assembled group highlighted the injustice of ICE officers' actions, shooting Lorenzo and Johan in cold blood, without a fair trial. The additional irony is that neither of these men was the target of ICE's investigation.

Other attendees commented on the perverse approach to immigration exemplified by the actions of ICE.

Men and women across the nation are in danger of being arrested or injured by ICE. We need to remain aware of ICE's actions and recognize ICE's victims. Say their names.
