From mobilize.us:
May 1st is not just a holiday—it is a call to action for workers across the world. Born in the fires of worker struggle in Chicago and forged by immigrants, radicals, and unions, May Day belongs to the working class. Our bosses have tried to erase its legacy. Politicians have tried to co-opt it. But we remember: May Day is a day of international solidarity, of rebellion against systems of power, and of hope for a future built by and for working people.
This year, we march united as workers under unprecedented attack.
Across the country—from fruit fields in California to classrooms in Chicago, from kitchens in Queens to loading docks in Atlanta—working people are rising up. We are demanding a world that puts our families over their fortunes: public schools over private profits, healthcare over hedge funds, housing over homelessness.
But the ruling class is terrified. That’s why they are lashing out.
Here in Colorado and across the U.S., immigrant workers are being deported, union organizers are being jailed, and corporate bosses are doing everything they can to silence those who dare to speak out. Activists like Lelo Juarez, Mahmoud Khalil, Rümeysa Öztürk, and Ranjani Srinivasan—leaders in their unions and communities—have been arrested, harassed, or surveilled simply for organizing their coworkers and demanding dignity. In Colorado alone, 12 international students had their visas revoked without warning or due process. Their only "crime"? Daring to stand up to power.
This is a coordinated attack on all of us—on our labor, our rights, our dignity. But they forget: an injury to one is an injury to all.
We are not afraid. We are building something stronger than fear. We are reclaiming May Day in the spirit it was born—in defiance of capitalist exploitation, in defense of working people, and in solidarity with immigrants and workers who keep this country running.
Join us on the Capitol steps at 3 PM on May 1st. March with us to the Byron G. Rogers Federal Building. Together we will show them that when we lose our fear—they lose their power.
They’ve ruled for too long. Their time is up. We’re not asking. We’re organizing. We are the many. They are the few. This is May Day. Join us.
